As predicted Apple has refreshed both the MacBook and MacBook Pro lineups. Updates consist of the usual speed bumps, new graphics chipsets, and more custom build-to-order options in general. Of more interest, however, Apple has included two features that stand out a bit more:
- The MacBook Pro now comes with a multitouch trackpad, as seen on the MacBook Air
- Users now have an option of choosing an LED screen for the MacBook Pro 17-inch. This was originally exclusive to the 15-inch model.

i love the new macbook pros hopefully getting the middle one, 2.5ghz 512mb GPU does anyone know why apple is now selling the apple remote seperatly???
AHH! I'm very on the edge about getting a new MacBook Pro. It's so tempting, but I just don't have the money right now. :/
I have been waiting for these updates for a while before I purchase a new Macbook Pro. But don't you think that the MacBook Pro needs a complete redesign, inside and out. It is a very minor update. And do you think if I purchase one of these that they will stay current for another year?

This is the BEST! I've been waiting for the new Macbook Pro for a long time.
You know you can get most of the "multi touch gesturing" on the previous MacBooks. I have 7 of the ten gestures on my MacBook from later 2007. Google "multi touch gestures" and you will find a short tutorial on the setup - it's all done through system preferences > Keyboard / Mouse > Trackpad. The main one I don't have is rotate.
There's a rumor about Apple completley renewing the MacBook and the MacBook Pro in June! Any Idea?
I can imagine the MookBook being completely redone soon. I would say that it will be made of Aluminum in the future to fit in line with the rest of their product line. Also I see some of the MacBook Air technology, such as the smaller logic board, filtering down to make an even lighter entry level Mac.
