It's finally official, folks! Toshiba today announced they "will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders." Yep, you read that right. Sony's Blu-ray is officially the winner in the high definition format war. It's been a long time coming, but the battle has finally closed.
So what you are you waiting for? Go and buy those Blu-ray players! And don't forget, the PlayStation 3 is currently the best deal on the market. Games and movies? Sounds good to me.

Yes...now apple can finially get me an iMac with BlueRay!
You know you can download software that will allow your mac to play blu-ray?
itubepro, I doubt that very muchings!
If its true can I have linkage thnx!
Btw, im glad the war is over. I knew blu-ray would win but I just wish they thought of a better name.
Blue-ray is the way to go bigger disks better picture and sound.
Its only cause microsoft helped make HD-DVD, and apple, dell, sony, hp, lg, and more made Blu-Ray
I think all of the Blu-Ray players that were bought in the past year or two are obsolete, except for the PS3. Because they're going to release Blu-Ray 2.0, Which wouldn't work on any of these players because they're not firmware upgradable except for the PS3.
