iPhone, iPod touch SDK is Official!

Apple has officially sent out invitations for the event focused on the upcoming iPhone/iPod touch software development kit. The event will take place at Apple on March 6th at 10:00 AM. Whether Steve Jobs will be giving the keynote is yet to be determined.

For those unaware, the SDK will allow third party developers to create applications for iPhone and iPod touch users. Hacking these devices, for the most part, will no longer be necessary.

So I have a question for my readers: What applications are you hoping to get out of the SDK? I'm very interested in reading your responses.

I'm curious to know how Apple is going to distribute the Apps, I disbelieve they will make it like the "installer.app" thing.
The most obvious way would be iTunes, but then... would it be free? Would developers need to comunicate with Apple to make an app available through iTunes?

I really hope we get an iChat program, it really is unacceptable that it wasn't in there from the beginning.

iChat, but thats a given, and I'm pretty much almost guaranteed that Apple will release that app, prolly for a price tho.
An RSS Reader would be nice that syncs with Apple's Mail.app, A twitter client, an ESPN type native app, SUMMERBOARD, or some customization app (hopefully Apple will allow this...!) There were some cool games and stuff when I had my iPhone jailbroken, like sketches and solitaire, but depending if it costs money, and how much I probably wouldn't buy them....

again iChat. haha. but I have not hacked my phone for the reason of the SDK launch, but if it is not free then i probably will hack my phone. It is dumb that we pay so much for it already and then we have to pay more to get new stuff. that's bull. but i think it will be done through iTunes also.

If they are not free i will just jailbreak my ipod touch

guys, Apple isn't the one developing these Apps for the SDK. So if you're arguing that you already paid for the phone, those developers are getting nothing out of it. If you want to jailbreak it, cool. But, these developers have families, and need to eat too. It's the least you could do.. & I mean when you pay a couple grand for a MBP do you expect all of your apps like Final Cut Studio or Microsoft Office to come free? It's the same thing. The iPhone is the future of mobile computing, the Apps are the first really visible similarity to it and a regular computer. We have to think of it like that.

Of course they won't be free, at least not all of them. Why would major companies develop for the iPhone if they're not going to get paid for it.

Maybe even Apple will start developing new apps!. I don't mind paying for apps if they were worth it.

Well, I already posted, but a burst of new Ideas hit me, after I blogged the subject....
Okay, I'm looking for plugins to Apple Apps, like Notes Syncing, Camera to Flickr uploading, Preset Maps downloads with landmarks already preset (simmilar to iCal downloads) .Mac syncing with calendars, etc., These would be amazing! Check out my blog thecreativemachine.blogspot.com for more of my predictions... kind of late I know!
